Alan Murtagh (03/10/2010 12:31:59) I have a “mystery” CD called “The Rolling Stones Live - Vol 2,” which appears to have been recorded before a very small audience in 1965. It has 16 tracks -including Funny Mae, Cops and Robbers and Memphis. It is part of a series called the “Golden Age,” and is interesting in that the cover shows an image of a group of 4 young lads who sort of resemble, but are definitely NOT the Rolling Stones! I did once see that an Italian TV crew did a documentary at about that time and, as the disc is produced in Italy in 1992, by Fremus S.A.S. (who produced a bootleg Doors album at the same time) I strongly suspect that this is a bootleg. Anybody have any other information? One of the most fascinating things about them is that they seem to pull from all sorts of genres - especially reggae! Listening to songs like “Black And Blue” – definitely shows how much Keith and the guys pulled from the genre. This being said, through my experiences listening to Rolling Stones I have begun listening to reggae legends such as Peter Tosh (he was actually the first artist on Rolling Stones Records!).
